Offered here is a rare Van Cleef & Arpels Traveler model in 18K gold, three parts body case with polished and brushed finish. Bidirectional revolving bezel engraved with the names of 37 cities around the world. Vendome type lugs, snap on case back. Sapphire crystal. Eggshell color dial with applied yellow gold Roman numerals and baton indexes with a luminous dot by each. Inner revolving graduated disc for the alarm feature with 24 hours. Luminous yellow gold baton hands. LeCoultre cal. 911, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 3 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Original crowns. Case diameter 36 mm. Thickness 10 mm. Original Van Cleef & Arpels alligator band and 18K gold buckle. There are some very minor scuffs and tiny dings on the bezel, very hard to see with the naked eye. The band is in good but used condition. This watch had a limited issue of 1000 pieces and this one is number 128. The alarm is set by pulling out the crown at 2 o’clock slightly and rotating the disc to position the triangle next to the desired hour. Then push the crown back in and wind. To ascertain the time at any of the cities around the world indicated on the bezel, turn the 24 hour disc to correspond with the 24 hour time in your location and turn the bezel so your city is next to the 24 hour time in your time zone. Now you can find the time around the world by corresponding the city next to 24 hour time on the disc.
