This is number 22 in Van Cleef & Arpels La Collection range of wristwatches. Model reference 43606. HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH? These watches were produced in low numbers, and like a lot of top jewellers Van Cleef & Arpels do not need to advertise – their clients know them. We did some some models launched in 1982 at Basel, and we have found a similar watch to this that sold previously with sales papers for 1990, so with little more information available we are saying this was made circa 1990. CONDITION Van Cleef & Arpels are in a rarefied position as one of the world’s top jewellers, alongside places like Harry Winston and Tiffany. They simply do not produce inexpensive items, so to be able to offer a watch of theirs at this price is a treat. It’s an interesting design – the integrated bracelet is parallel on the top half and tapered on the bottom, The bezel and VC&A logo will be made of 18k gold, as they simply would not use gold plate on their creations. The movement inside as an ETA Swiss quartz from their flatline range, allowing a very slim profile. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. This model was also available with a leather strap, but the bracelet is the one to have if you can find it as the replacement straps will likely be very expensive. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com , may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity. This watch has been checked against the Watch Register and has not been reported as lost, stolen or implicated in fraud, and a copy of that certificate will also be included.
