VINTAGE VACHERON & CONSTANTIN PRE-CIOCCOLATONE 30 MM SIZE 18K GOLD 1947 RARE

Up for auction this remarkable timepiece: an authentic vintage Vacheron & Constantin men's watch in a solid 18K yellow-gold fancy-shaped rectangular case, manual-wind, manufactured in 1946-48's. The size of the watch is 30 x 35 mm (at the widest points) and the lugs take 20mm wide band. The shape of the watch reminds a later Cioccolatone watches from Vacheron & Constantin, so could be considered as a predecessor of modern Cioccolatone watches. It is a watch with hours, minutes and small seconds in a rectangular fancy-shape case. With typical Vacheron aplomb, this most basic of wristwatch forms is merely the starting point for a striking design marked by bold lines and delicate textures. The finish of the case is shiny gloss with textured coin-edge bezel. The case of this Vacheron & Constantin watch is clean and sharp, signed and hallmarked. The crystal is clean and free of scratches. The manual-wind 458/3B Vacheron & Constantin caliber in-house movement is running strong and accurate.
