A rare vintage Vacheron Constantin watch reference 4240L (“L” stands for lune in French) in 18k pink gold, crafted in the late 1940s. The 35 mm polished case houses beautifully sculpted lugs that taper and a hand wound movement. Features the original pink dial with a two-tone effect, faceted raised gold hour indices and sword-shaped hands, a blue calendar track pointed by a red arrow, red day and month apertures, and a lovely patina’d moonphase integrated with the subsidiary seconds dial. Fitted with a dark brown crocodile strap and its original period pin buckle stamped “A.W. 18k”. One does not come across this special vintage Vacheron, certainly make a beautiful addition to a vintage lover’s collection. Wear from age and usage. Original dial, hands and crown.
