Perpetual Chronograph 49005 in platinum and with a beautiful salmon guilloche dial. Vacheron Constantin set a new standard with reference 49005, both in terms of the technical excellence of its movement and its perfectly mastered classicism in the arrangement of complications with exemplary legibility. Combining a chronograph and a perpetual calendar, this beautiful model was launched in 1992, and remained in production until the turn of the century. Its complications are arranged within four sub-dials bearing the date and the 30-minute counter (3 o'clock), the moon phases with small seconds (6 o'clock), the day and the 12-hour counter (9 o'clock) and the month with leap year (12 o'clock). So many functions are brought to life by the self-winding Caliber 1136QP, equipped with a column wheel for the chronograph controls and an additional module for the perpetual calendar, which requires no correction until 2100. This platinum / salmon dial combination is extremely rare and hard to come by (believed to be one of circa 30 to be produced). Amazing condition throughout with very crisp hallmarks. The salmon dial with guilloche finish is a work of art; it is one of the nicest dial designs for a QP chronograph with an outstanding sense of balance for such a complication.
