The Harmony Chronograph pays tribute to a cushion shaped monopusher chronograph from the 1930s. The case shape, the hands, the blue numerals and the pulsation scale are all a homage to the piece from the brand’s museum. In an interesting twist the minutes sub-counter is graduated for 45 minutes and a small circular power reserve indicator (65 hours power reserve) is placed at 6 o’clock. However, where Vacheron Constantin really impresses is with the development of a brand new chronograph caliber (cal 3300) housed within. It took Vacheron Constantin close to 7 years to develop this movement that features a lateral clutch that reduces friction, a very smooth start/stop/restart chronograph pusher as well as a column wheel in the shape of a Maltese Cross, the emblem of the brand. Vacheron Constantin furthermore spared no effort in the movement finish which is truly beautiful. A final nod to the brand’s history is the hand engraved balance cock that takes its inspiration from the floral motifs found in some of its original pocket watches. Limited to 260 pieces , the present Harmony Chronograph is number 36.
