The Harmony Chronograph pays tribute to a cushion shaped monopusher chronograph from the 1930s. The case shape, the hands, the blue numerals and the pulsation scale are all a homage to the piece from the brand’s museum. In an interesting twist the minutes sub-counter is graduated for 45 minutes and a small circular power reserve indicator (65 hours power reserve) is placed at 6 o’clock. However, where Vacheron Constantin really impresses is with the development of a brand new chronograph caliber (cal 3300) housed within. It took Vacheron Constantin close to 7 years to develop this movement that features a lateral clutch that reduces friction, a very smooth start/stop/restart chronograph pusher as well as a column wheel in the shape of a Maltese Cross, the emblem of the brand. Vacheron Constantin furthermore spared no effort in the movement finish which is truly beautiful. A final nod to the brand’s history is the hand engraved balance cock that takes its inspiration from the floral motifs found in some of its original pocket watches.
