Vacheron Constantin White Gold Chronometre Royal 6694

Released in 1953, the Vacheron Constantin Chronomètre Royal collection is widely recognized as some of the brand's finest timepieces from that era. Itself debuting in 1962 and building upon that very reputation, the Vacheron Constantin Chronomètre Royal ref. 6694 features Vacheron's first automatic chronometer-certified movement, the cal. 1072, an important milestone for any watchmaker to reach given its position as the highest standard of precision in watchmaking at the time. Famed for its beautifully finished movement, the ref. 6694 is also iconic for its design, thanks to its so-called "Batman" lugs. Named due to their shape, these lugs offer a resoundingly unique appearance given their wide stance and winged silhouette on an otherwise traditionally-shaped case. Referred to as the "Batman", this unusual case design has wide curved lugs resembling wings. On the wrist, the watch is lovely. The true essence of a strong 1960's design with a large contemporary size. This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging.
