The watch features a beautifully executed ‘silvered Roman numerals sigma dial’ with applied solid gold baton markers, finely faceted hands and a discreet date aperture, all protected beneath a sapphire crystal. Original Dial: Signed Vacheron Constantin rare silvered Sigma dial exhibiting exceptional depth and understated elegance. The dial is beautifully appointed with raised solid gold concave baton hour markers alongside applied Roman numerals, further enhanced by finely printed minute indices to the outer chapter ring. Elegant solid gold dauphine hands are complemented by a matching tapered sweep seconds hand, perfectly balancing the watch’s refined aesthetic. The dial remains in excellent condition for its age, displaying only light signs of wear consistent with careful use and preservation only noticeable when using a x10 louge magnification. Original movement: The Vacheron Constantin calibre 1126/2 is a beautifully refined ultra-thin automatic movement regarded as one of the finest self-winding dress watch movements of the late 20th century. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with 36 jewels and approximately 38 hours of power reserve, the movement is celebrated for its slim architecture, reliability and chronometer-grade precision. The calibre features a bi-directional winding rotor mounted on ball bearings, indirect centre seconds, quick-set date functionality and fine regulation adjustment, all executed to the exceptional finishing standards expected of Geneva’s oldest continuously operating watch manufacture. Original Case: Solid gold 18 carat with polished finish, lugs and the centre of case carrying a satin finish, smooth chamfered bezel. Case has light surface scratches commensurate with age associated with precious metals. Original Crown/Winder: Signed with the Maltese cross. The push and pull crown is in good working condition. Original Case Back Cover Outer: Bearing Swiss assay marks signed Vacheron Constantin Geneve Chronometer serial numbered ******. Polished 18 carat case with a satin finish. Case-back fits perfectly flush with the case. Has light surface hairline scratches associated with precious metals commensurate with age and wear not noticeable to the naked eye. Original Sapphire Crystal: Good overall condition with some micro scratches commensurate with age and wear not noticeable to the naked eye only under x10 loupe magnification. Original Strap/Band Solid Gold Buckle: Retains original Vacheron signed leather strap band and solid gold buckle. The strap has hardly been used and in excellent condition, fits a medium gents wrist circumference of up-to 7.3 inches can be adjusted to a smaller size.
