Urban Jürgensen , Reference 2 of 18k gold

Urban Jürgensen , Reference 2 of 18k gold. Mechanical movement with automatic winding, perpetual calendar and moon phase indication, cal. FP71. Black strap with C-type buckle of gold-plated steel. Ø 38 mm. 1990., Very few watchmaking companies with Danish origin are internationally renowned. None are more appreciated than Urban Jürgensen. Although the company has gone through many different phases throughout its existence, it is today mostly recognised by its wristwatches. To collectors of fine watchmaking, the name Derek Pratt brings a smile to the face. Very few watchmakers have made better looking, higher quality dials than Pratt. He managed to combine historical methods of engine-turning and hand-making with modern sizing and aesthetics. And with a CEO like Peter Baumberger, who never let anything leave the atelier unless it was 100% perfect, you can expect incredibly beautiful and well-made watches., After 251 years of existence, Urban Jürgensen is once again being revived by Finnish/Swiss watchmaking genius Kari Voutilainen. Hence, collectors around the globe are looking for Jürgensen pieces to add to their collections with renewed interest – and there are not that many to choose from, as they were all made in limited quantities., This particular watch was sold in May 1990, just a few weeks after the launch during BaselWorld. This is confirmed by the extract from the archives, which also tells us that the watch was made in 1989., Accompanied by Urban Jürgensen ostrich leather-lined mahogany box, manuals in English and German, Urban Jürgensen strap with Urban Jürgensen C-type buckle of 18k gold and extract from the archives confirming the date of sale to May 5th 1990 and the date of manufacture to November 6th 1989 (a year earlier than the launch of the watch)., This lot is subject to CITES export/import restrictions and can only be shipped to adresses within the EU or collected from one of our departments.
