UNIVERSAL GENÈVE. A FINE AND RARE 18K ROSE GOLD MANUAL WIND CHRONOGRAPH WRISTWATCH

Introduced in the mid-1940s, the Universal Genève Medico-Compax is a specialized chronograph designed specifically for medical professionals. This present example features a rare Spanish graduated pulsometer scale, "Graduado Para 15 Pulsaciones," which allowed doctors to measure a heart rate by starting the chronograph, counting 15 beats, and reading the frequency directly from the scale. Housed in an 18kt rose gold case and distinguished by its stunning engine-turned fluted bezel, the dial utilizes two registers at 3 and 9 o'clock to maximize legibility. It is powered by the legendary manual wind movement, Caliber 285. This timepiece remains a highly sought-after "tool watch," representing a perfect intersection of mid-century luxury and professional utility.
