During the 1940s, Universal Genève had already established its reputation as a forward-thinking manufacturer, known for its elegant time-only watches and the technical sophistication of its chronographs. This ref. 20733 has a 32.5mm, measured excluding the crown, stainless steel case with a solid gold bezel. Its compact proportions are faithful to the size and proportions of the era, while the gold bezel introduces a subtle yet notable contrast. The case is in an excellent condition, with its original finishing. A clean, domed plexiglass crystal completes the watch. The dial has been professionally restored and has a refined two-tone silvered layout with a central brushed sector and a dial contrasting peripheral track. Breguet-style numerals and central seconds complete. Blued Breguet hands and a matching central seconds hand offer period-correct aesthetic. At the heart of the watch is the Universal Genève Caliber 263, a hand-wound movement with central seconds. Introduced in the 1940, the 263 is a robust and reliable movement with a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and a power reserve of approximately 40 hours.
