Universal Geneve Golden Shadow Ref. UN3908 Antique Automatic 18KYG 32mm Men's

Universal Geneve Golden Shadow Ref. UN3908 Antique Automatic 18KYG 32mm Men's Universal Genève Round Model Circa 1967 Universal Micro-Rotor Automatic Movement Original Condition 18K Yellow Gold (Solid Gold) Snap-Back Case Universal Genève was a manufacture primarily specializing in complicated watches, and its development of the “Micro-Rotor” — a compact automatic winding rotor — astonished the watch world and led to the creation of one of the first ultra-thin automatic movements in horological history. Introducing the Universal Genève Golden Shadow Roman Dial from 1967, equipped with this high-cost and historically significant micro-rotor movement. In recent years, examples have become increasingly difficult to find, making this a particularly valuable piece. The champagne gold dial is highly attractive, featuring black Roman numeral indexes marking the hours from 1 to 12. The elegant straight hands, coordinated with the indexes, create a cohesive and refined overall appearance while offering excellent legibility and atmosphere. The contrast between the dial and indexes is exceptionally sophisticated, giving the watch the distinctive presence unique to vintage Universal Genève timepieces. The beautifully proportioned solid 18K yellow gold case pairs perfectly with the dial, further enhancing the appeal of the round case design. The carefully crafted and graceful form, characteristic of this era and rarely seen in modern watches, is harmoniously balanced throughout. The watch is fitted with the original Universal “U” signed crown. The case shape is superb, with the rich texture and high-quality finishing characteristic of fine vintage watches. Inside is Universal Genève’s beautifully constructed and highly reliable micro- rotor automatic movement. An antique Universal Genève that allows the wearer to experience the golden era of a brand with more than 100 years of history and tradition. Size Length: approx. 36 mm (including lugs) Width: approx. 32 mm (excluding crown) / 34 mm (including crown) Thickness: approx. 6 mm (including crystal) Lug width: 18 mm The watch comes with the pictured new genuine leather strap by HIRSCH — a high-quality manufacturer known for producing straps for brands such as Breguet and Cartier — in black, along with a HIRSCH buckle. Although there are minor scratches and signs of age, the watch remains in good condition for an antique timepiece of this era. The movement has been overhauled and retains a beautiful glossy finish. Since the overhaul, the watch has only been wound for operational testing and has not otherwise been used. Accuracy has been adjusted to within approximately ±60 seconds per day.
