Description

Universal Genève Compax Uni Compax 18K rose gold

For sale is my 1950s Universal Genève Uni Compax 124118 1 manual winding vintage watch. The case is solid 18K rose gold in good condition - take a look at the pictures. I've taken close-ups of the flaws - see last 2 pictures. The domed plexiglass is in good condition. It has beautiful gold dauphiné hands and blued steel chronograph and subdial hands. The dial is a silver colour with a very fine speckling or grain texture. The applied indices are gold like the main hands, the outer tachymeter scale has blue text. The subdials are recessed with concentric circles. The solid gold caseback is wonderfully simple with just the numbers engraved at the base. Inside is the utterly beautiful in-house UG Cal. 285 handwinding movement with 8-column pillar wheel design, two button operation, and compax design. Service history is unknown but the watch works flawlessly - winding is smooth and positive, timekeeping and power reserve are good, and the chronograph pushers are firm and responsive with the hands zeroing perfectly.
