Here is an original late 1960s Universal Genève Compax “Nina Rindt” men’s steel chronograph, in good original condition and in proper working order. The Universal Genève Compax chronograph gained legendary status through its association with Nina Rindt, widow of Formula 1 World Champion Jochen Rindt, who tragically died during practice for the 1970 Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Nina Rindt, a prominent figure in racing circles and fashion, was frequently photographed wearing her late husband’s Universal Genève Compax chronograph, transforming this timepiece into an icon of motorsport heritage. The watch, characterized by its distinctive panda dial configuration with black registers against a white background, became synonymous with the Rindt name within collector circles. The screw-in steel caseback has original Universal Genève signature and is in a very good used condition. Serial number and reference no longer visible. The tachymetric bezel is also in a very good condition. Original crown . The manual-winding Universal Genève movement, based on Valjoux caliber 72, operates correctly and has precise timekeeping. The chronograph bridge is a replacement and is not original. This timepiece has received complete service by in-house watchmaker and all functions operate properly.
