Initiated in 1926 by Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf, Tudor’s mission was to provide the masses with affordable watches using off-the-shelf movements in Rolex-quality cases. This formula proved very successful with military forces all over the world, who were particularly keen on their value, build quality, longevity, and submersible qualities. Amongst the brand’s greatest hits are the dressy Tudor Prince (1950’s), the Submariner (1960’s) and the Oysterdate chronographs (1970’s, 1980’s), including the colourful Montecarlos, fitted with exotic Singer dials. In 2009, Tudor pioneered a brand revival and released multiple new collections, such as the Black Bay, Pelagos, Glamour and Heritage series, some of them with new in-house movements (2011+). This 2012 Heritage chronograph was sold new in Italy, and is inspired by the Montecarlo series of the 1970’s. An iconic watch with a lot of wrist presence and 150m waterproofing, it is one of our personal favorites at this price point. It comes with its original box and papers, and it is ready for its next owner.
