I am offering for sale a beautiful and highly collectible vintage TUDOR (Rolex) 7992/0 Oysterdate with shield in very good original condition and good working order! The watch is a most striking and beautiful timepiece in steel with a stunning silver dial, silvered hands, silvered hour markers and a handy date window with its traditional “cyclops” at 3 o’clock. It is hard to imagine that the watch is 56 years old, dating from 1968! The date is confirmed by cross referencing the serial number (located between the lugs at 6 o’clock) and published date tables. The case measures 34 mm (excluding the Rolex crown). The watch winds well and is currently ticking away strongly and keeping good time. The hands adjust as they should. The original dial is in extremely good order as is the watch glass and case. The watch is powered by a reliable Tudor Cal 2423 manual wind movement (modified ETA 2409) with 17 jewels and 18,000 v.p.h. The watch comes on a genuine Rolex Oyster bracelet which is stamped “3/72” at the clasp. This indicates that the bracelet is four years younger than the watch, dating from March, 1972. The bracelet is full sized. There are micro-adjustment holes at the clasp. At its present setting it is set at its smallest configuration. This fits my seven inch wrist nicely. There is much scope for expansion of course for larger wrists. If you have a smaller wrist you will need to remove a link or two (or simply replace the bracelet or use a leather strap). The watch comes housed in a new quality sturdy wooden storage box. A truly beautiful and classy vintage Tudor/Rolex, rather rare too as a manual wind and all ready to go!
