Tudor Pelagos 25407N

Description

TUDOR PELAGOS 25407N GOOGLE WATCHES@ DINO TITANIUM

Launched in 2012 just 3 short years after Tudor’s relaunch in 2009, the Pelagos entered the market as one of the most capable dive watches on the market. Designed from an entirely blank slate and not inspired by any previous collections from either Tudor, or Rolex’s back-catalog, the Pelagos is one of the brand’s most function-focused watches. Existing as Tudor’s contemporary hardcore diver’s watch with the specs to prove it, the Pelagos is constructed from advanced materials such as titanium and ceramic, water resistant to an impressive 500m and even comes equipped with a helium escape valve – cementing it as a hardcore dive watch. With a highly specialized clasp to facilitate quick micro-adjustments and a spring-loaded system to accommodate wetsuits, everything about the Pelagos was designed with function in mind, including its heavily-lumed matte dial that is immediately reminiscent of the dive watches that came before it. In 2022, Tudor decided to expand upon the Pelagos collection with a new 39mm variant that lacked a date feature, but made up for it with some aesthetic updates. Boasting a sunburst black dial and ceramic bezel insert, the Pelagos 39 ref. 25407N was a more fashion-forward take on the robust tool watch, while still offering the same 500m of water resistance and helium escape valve functionality, making it perhaps the perfect timepiece for the adventurer who likes to wear their watches hard. Offered here, however, we a watch offered outside of the Pelagos 39’s regular production, a special limited-edition variant made in collaboration with the watch collector group Watches@, made up of Google staff members. Boasting the “Chrome Dino” on its dial at 6 o’ clock from everyone’s favourite hidden browser game on Google Chrome’s offline mode (which pops up when you disconnect from the internet), this timepiece is a fun and quirky way to pay homage to one of the internet’s worst-kept secrets.
