This is the Fifth Generation of the model, released immediately after the 1968 Ref.7985 from which it differs mainly in the hands, which in this Reference are Mercedes type. In recent years the Calypsomatic has been growing rapidly in value because it has met with favor among discerning collectors who appreciate its workmanship and undeniable Vintage appeal. Steel case 38mm in diameter (excluding Crown) with signed and screw-down case back, original black dial with tritiated hour markers, Mercedes hands and date window at 3 o'clock. Bi-directional bezel and screw-locked winding crown not logoed. Case and back are beautiful, I preferred not to remove the small imperfections of time that give the watch absolute charm. Leather strap and generic steel buckle. Self-winding movement marked Solvil & Titus with eta base caliber 2472 in very good working order. watch does not have original box and papers.
