Technos Galaxy 10706

Description

c1976 Technos Galaxy Automatic

With a stunning green dial and quality ETA automatic movement, this Technos Galaxy is quite a rare watch. Model reference 10706. HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH? Technos were founded in 1924. The movement used in this watch was first introduced in 1976, and not long after LCD and Quartz watches dominated customer preferences, so we believe this was made circa 1976. CONDITION Information and other examples of the Technos Galaxy seem to be in short supply, but it really is a stand out watch. Maybe it was short lived as several other companies had registered the name Galaxy for use with watches, including Rolex, Vacheron Constantin and Piaget. That dial is original and just has light patina. The case is stainless steel and has a screw down case back, and inside is the 25 jewel automatic movement. ETA 2789-1 differs from the standard ETA 2789 by having two languages for the day of the week, and unusually this one is in Turkish. This does mean you do have the abbreviation for Friday from the Turkish Cuma, which is great if you have an immature streak (like us!), but you can also use the English day abbreviations if you prefer. The bracelet doesn’t appear original and looks quite new. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
