Reference number: 903 Age of the watch: ca. 1975 new original Breitling Plexiglas! Rare early version with the Breitling Navitimer 7806 case, the successor to the 806. Case back stamped "breitling watch ltd swiss". The movement is the same as in the Navitimer 7806, a Valjoux 7740, but in this case already "sense-stamped". According to the relevant forums, only around 300 of these watches were made. The much more common Breitling 7806 is now rarely found for less than 5000 euros, so the chances of this even rarer Sinn increasing in value are quite realistic. Very nice condition with only slight optical signs of wear and scratches. A new original Breitling Plexiglas was fitted in mid-June 2024. On the time scale, the watch ran very well during our test with around - 3 s / d at an amplitude of 264 degrees. All functions are flawless, the chronograph zeros cleanly and the reset also works perfectly. A brief history: The Sinn 903 Navigaton watch is, so to speak, the "daughter" of the Breitling Navitimer. When Breitling got into difficulties as a result of the quartz crisis (early 1970s to mid-1980s), Helmut Sinn bought almost the entire stock of Navitimer spare parts, machines and the design rights from Breitling. However, Breitling never sold the rights to the "Navitimer" name. Consequently, Sinn was not allowed to call the 903 "Navitimer" and the "navigation watch" was born. One such early example, which was created using the purchased Breitling parts, is for sale here. The watch comes on an original Sinn leather strap with original Sinn buckle.
