Shellman
Description
The world’s first quartz movement incorporating Minute Repeater, Perpetual Calendar, Moon Phase, and Split Seconds Chronograph was groundbreaking. Reproducing these complex mechanisms using quartz was a remarkable feat.
In December 1996, the watch received the “Watch of the Year” and “Special Jury Prize” by World Photo Press. It became a permanent exhibit at La Chaux-de-Fonds International Watch Museum, one of the world’s most prestigious, in 1997. The Sherman Original Watch Series, crafted in Citizen’s “Southern Shinshu High-End Watch Studio,” showcases modern craftsmanship. Master craftsmen handle everything from setting the dial to final adjustments. Founded in 1971 in Ginza, Shellman curates exceptional antique watches and jewelry. In 1995, they introduced Shellman Original Watches, rivaling Swiss luxury timepieces. The Grand Complication series, featuring a black dial, was sold around 1997-2000.
