Seiko Presage Alpinist

I bought this watch from a friend who was the original owner. I do not have original box or papers. It is in good condition with signs of general wear and tear on the case and a minor scratch on the crystal. There are minor scratches on the bracelet as well. It has not been beat up but has been lived in. It keeps time about as expected for a Seiko automatic and has varied for me from -5 to -20 seconds per day. The watch is not perfect but it is really enjoyable to own and wear. It is a unique watch that is adjacent to the Alpinist line. This model has been difficult to find as it was discontinued and has been fairly highly sought after. The cream dial with Arabic numerals is simple and beautiful. It is versatile and can be worn in many situations. I’ve worn it everywhere from vacations at the beach to the grocery store to black tie events. It is comfortable to wear on the Seiko OEM bracelet as well as a leather strap, and I think it looks really good on brown leather. The second crown controls the compass function, which I have never used purposefully, but nonetheless the function is there. The indices are luminous but the dial is not. There is also an option to read the time in 24 hour format because of the smaller 13-24 numerals at each hour position. I am really proud of this watch and have very much enjoyed it for the 4 years I’ve owned it. My reason for selling is that I’m interested in a different style of watch at the moment and I can’t justify owning two watches right now.
