1. Curved Dial with an Elegant Luster SEIKO Unique Arita Ware Dial: The lustrous three-dimensionality unique to porcelain is achieved by combining the traditions of Arita Ware, the passion of our ancestors, and innovative high-strength technology. Unlike enamel, lacquer, and cloisonné, which are manufactured on a metal base, the dial itself is sculpted three-dimensionally using special techniques and the surface is finished with a lustrous glaze. This multi-hand calendar model combines large curves with small curves in the subdials to achieve the elegant look unique to porcelain. 2. The Color of Arita Ware's Origins This model features a bluish-white color known as "Isubai," the origin of Arita Ware. Japan's first ceramics were created in 1616 (Genwa 2) using pottery stone discovered in Izumiyama, Arita Town. Early ceramics contained a high amount of iron, resulting in a bluish-white color. Additionally, the red indexes on the translucent pale dial, reminiscent of painted designs, are also a design feature of the Laurel, Japan's first wristwatch.
