Description

Seiko King Vintage King Seiko 4502-7010 (Satin Brush Dial)

This steel King Seiko 4502-7010 is in good condition. Its satin brushed case is in good order and not overly polished, similarly, its textured dial is in good condition, with minimal patina and no corrosion. There are minor abrasions on the case and crystal, a rare condition for a vintage timepiece. The "KS" signed crown and gold Daini medallion are originals as well. Please refer to the photos displayed. This King Seiko 4502 beats at 36,000 bph, and keeps decent accuracy of +/-10 seconds per day. Accuracy of the timepiece is dependent on the wound spring. The timepiece will lose some seconds near the end of the wind. The timepiece's service history is not available. This is a hacking and hand wind movement and its quick-change date wheel is in working order. Emphasizing difference from its close straight-laced 7000-type brethen, a slightly different approach from the "grammar of design" has been applied onto this KS. Rather than straight and clean streamlines, gentle satin brushed curvatures have been applied. The gentle textured dial enhances the distinction between these two models.   Additional information about the 45 caliber. From the Seiko Daini factory, the 45KS line uses the Daini's 4500 calibre. It is a hand-winding "Hi-Beat" timepiece notable for the extraordinary beat rate at which they run for that era. The King Seiko 45 model caliber is the only model to offer a hand wound 36,000 A/h movement (the last hand-built King Seiko AND also the last with such movements from Daini). This line was produced from the height of the classic mechanical watch period through the quartz crisis before petering out and ending production in the early 1970's. All featured simple faces and hands and a golden "KS" medallion on the case back, a feature later removed. The King Seiko 4502-7010, while still a functional, mechanical wrist art, is the beloved oddball to any collector’s vintage collection, Please be mindful that the caliber is fairly old, and required care when winding the spring. Please also note that, as with all vintages, the movement may be damaged if an attempt to change the date between the hours of 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM is made. Please consider to change the date when the time is outside that range first, then reset the time after adjusting the date. Please also note that it is strongly recommended not to use the timepiece under environments with extreme moisture. Selling as it is, please see watch conditions as displayed in photos. Willing to ship all around the world.
