I purchased this watch new in July 2025 upon release. I've only ever tried it on to size the bracelet, worn it a few weeks at work (office, low damage threat besides normal wear expectations, but I've still been careful), but otherwise it's been in my watch case. I'm choosing to sell it to make a bit of room for some other things in life. I am open to reasonable offers against my listed price, but I feel it's fair.
At first glance you'll notice the polished/brushed integrated steel bracelet mated to a 41mm case. Housed inside is a deep blue dial, dubbed Tokyo Midnight by Seiko. This model, SLA085, is one of four additions from July 2025. Each reference represents a different period throughout a day in Tokyo; from sunrise to sunset, twilight to midnight. The watches pay homage to VANAC models produced in the 1970's, but with their own modern spin as described above. Multiple lines on the dial running parallel to the text creates a series of horizon lines that change depending on the lighting situation. At the center of the dial are polished minute and hour hands equipped with LumiBrite. The seconds hand features a 'V' representing the VANAC heritage. Moving toward the outer edges of the dial is a segmented gray border with LumiBrite equipped markers at the hour marks. The 12 o'clock marker has polished accents and shares the 'V' theme with the seconds hand. Resting at the 3 o'clock position is the date window.
The crown is screw-down and water resistance is rated at 100m/10bar. The side profile resembles a cog and has an engraved KS shield. Goes well with the shape of the case.
The heart of the new VANAC family is powered through Seiko's most accurate mechanical movement, the 8L45. It boasts a 72-hour power reserve and runs at an advertised -5/+10s per day.
I've sized the bracelet to myself and will include the removed link/pin. Note, it is pin and collar, so be careful not to fumble during sizing. Also, I will ship the outer white retailer sleeve, outer KS box, inner KS travel case/pillow, hang tag, guarantee card, instruction manual.
I appreciate you considering my KS Tokyo Midnight - SLA085. It really is a beautiful watch, a very comfortable wear with the integrated bracelet, and, without jumping into the land of GS spring drives, I feel it's a decent bang for your buck when it comes to what Seiko has to offer.
