A Superb watch! Jorg 'Hysek' influenced the design of this SEIKO....! This chap was one hell of a designer, so good that SEIKO commissioned him to design the Arctura series. The best Arctura's were released late 90's to 2000, a timeless classic design. The watch case is contoured to your wrist making these very comfortable to wear.
Rare Men's Seiko Arctura Kinetic with Caliber-Case 5M42-0E30. This uniquely styled timepiece, which had been worn sparingly, has been professionally restored to very good condition! It has minimal scratches, nicks or other blemishes and has been serviced, including replacement of its original capacitor with a new lithium-ion ESU. There are a few very fine scratches on the back of the case where the servicing company have tried to avoid polishing out the serial numbers etc.
This very lightweight watch is a pleasure to wear! Please review the detailed, close-up photos of the actual watch to assess its pristine appearance. It will come in its original Seiko box, and will be securely packed for shipping.
Case: Solid steel case!. Bezel-to-body mounting gasket, lubed. Silver crown and pusher, each working smoothly, gaskets, lubed. The case's dimensions are as follows: width 40mm, including crown; height 44mm top-to-bottom of bezel, 50mm top-to-bottom of case; thickness 12mm.
Crystal: Replaced, new hardlex (hardened mineral glass) crystal that comes standard with the watch. Offers good scratch resistance.
Dial & Hands: Deep dark blue dial with luminous time markers, numbering (6, 9 and 12 o'clock), date display at 3 o'clock, and a dark red-to-white charge indicator strip. Clear lume. Dial code: 5M42-0H00 T 2. Luminous silver -tone hour and minute hands, sweep second hand.
Bracelet: Finely brushed solid steel bracelet... What a design! Simply stunning! The bracelet carries a fitment of approx. 20cm (8") with all links (please note that watch can be sized by having links removed and is currently maximum size with no extra links present). Locking two-button fold-over clasp.
Movement: Legendary 5M42 kinetic quartz movement with new, upgraded Seiko lithium-ion ESU (Electricity Storage Unit, that allows the watch to run months on a full charge, compared to only 7-14 days with its original capacitor! The Automatic Power Generator in the movement generates electrical energy to power the watch, utilizing the movement of the arm while wearing the watch, and stores it in the ESU. The current power reserve of the ESU is indicated by the second hand at the press of the charge indicator pusher. When the energy stored in the ESU is reduced to a very low level, the second hand starts moving in two-second intervals to indicate that the ESU needs recharging by swinging the watch from side to side. This kinetic quartz movement keeps excellent time, within 15 seconds gain/loss per month.
