This is the 4th and final series of Seiko’s legendary mechanical World Time line, produced from late 1969 through December 1976 — a seven-year run that made it the longest-produced series in the World Time lineage. It represented a complete redesign of the previous generation, with a new case, crown, bracelet, dial finishes, hands, and updated bezel. The movement was upgraded to the 6117B caliber with hacking seconds. The World Time concept traces back to 1964, when Seiko released the original for the Tokyo Olympics at a price of 12,000 yen — a significant sum at the time. The 6117-6400 was the version produced for the Japanese Domestic Market and international markets .
