This is a rare “FLEXIBLE SUSPENSION” Rolex oyster chronometer “Flatback” model manufactured in the 1930’s. It features a flexible suspension between the dial and the movement, which is designed to protect the movement from shocks. It was used only in a few models in the 1930’s such as the early flatback models, and it is a very valuable and rare item as a reference.
