Rolex: A Stainless Steel Wristwatch Made for the Canadian Royal Air Force, signed Rolex, Shockproof, model: Sky Rocket, 1940's, (Fontmelon calibre 59) manual wound lever movement, silvered dial with Arabic luminous numerals and a red outer 24 hour chapter, seconds dial, luminous hands, case with screw back and stamped inside Rolex 29mm wide Rolex Sky Rocket watches were made exclusively for the Canadian Royal Air Force and were not issued to the Canadian military; they were also available for servicemen to purchase. To our knowledge, Rolex did not manufacture the case or movement for the watch. The cases were manufactured in North America, and the movements were made by a Swiss movement maker Fabrique Horologerie de Fontmelon.
