Description: Rolex, founded in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis under the name Wilsdorf & Davis, was one of the first watchmakers to emphasize precision and reliability in wristwatches at a time when pocket watches were still the standard. This early Rolex timepiece, dating to 1911, reflects the brand’s pioneering era and was made only three years after the Rolex name was registered and nine years before the company was offically changed to Montre Rolex S.A in 1920.
