Box & Papers: Bob's Box Vintage Watch Condition Examination This GMT is in great vintage condition consistent with age. The case is strong with normal signs of wear. The red back bezel is in good, attractive condition with some wear; the colors are strong with a deep red. The dial is in attractive condition with light patina, the lume on the dial has aged to a lovely roasted marshmallow color; some with darker patina. The hands have developed patina and the lume in the lume in the hands have aged to a beautiful sand color with cracking. The hands have aged a bit darker than the dial which is not uncommon. The Oyster bracelet is in great condition with normal signs of wear and some stretch between the links. Description: Rolex GMT-Master 1675 The GMT Master is Rolex's signature pilot's watch, complete with dual-time capabilities. It came to market in 1955, with ref. 1675 following shortly after in 1959. It's one of the most sought-after vintage Rolex watches on the secondary market because it's instantly recognizable with its 24-hour bezel and dedicated GMT hand. The Rolex 1675 was also notably the first GMT Master to use crown guards. This circa 1978 example is in overall beautiful and honest condition. This watch has what collectors refer to as a Mark 5 dial and the defining characteristic of this is the tall coronet and the placement of the "M" in "Master" over the "C" in chronometer, it divides the C and H. This watch has a really good look with the rich bezel colors and sandy colored lume. If you are in the market for a GMT with character this one is worth considering!
