The watch has a superb condition case, very clean fully overhauled and serviced movement and mint condition porcelain dial. The condition of the strap, watch case and movement indicates this watch has only ever seen very occasional and careful use. The Dial The beautiful restored honey dial looks absolutely delightful with wonderful black Breguet style standard Arabic numerals with an outer minute railtrack. The dial is complete with its original black ‘index’ style hands. This dial is simply signed with ‘Rolex’ at the very top of the dial. The lens has also been replaced as part of the restoration so is fresh and scratch free. Please note, studio lights, professional-grade digital cameras, and macro lenses can be very unkind to an unrestored vintage watch dial. Also the dial here measures less than 1.25 inches across, so the image you’re seeing may be between 5 – 25 times larger than the watch itself. Therefore please keep in mind you are seeing many tiny flaws which cannot be seen, or will be very hard to see with the naked eye, even under close examination. Suffice to say, on the wrist, in natural light, this dial looks much better and carries a great deal more charm than the photographs portray. The Movement The high-grade, 15 Jewel, hand-wound movement is in incredibly clean and sparkling condition and has just been fully overhauled and serviced by our expert vintage Rolex specialist watchmaker. The example here is running perfectly, having been calibrated to run consistently within plus or minus 9 seconds per day! This is truly outstanding for any mechanical watch and it is no exaggeration – we have checked the test results on our electronic watch timegrapher. Although these movements are reasonably robust, these watches do need to be treated with extra care, so while perfect for special occasions, we do not recommend this watch for everyday use. Note, small ladies Rolex of this vintage are not expected to remain as accurate as a larger watch or a more modern movement. We therefore typically see an accuracy of 1 minute per day on these watches, while 2 - 3 minutes per day is not outside expected parameters. Opening the double hinged case-back reveals it is double signed with both ‘Rolex’, ‘20 Worlds Records’, ‘Geneva Suisse’ the correct Swiss 9ct hallmarks and also the case serial number 47034. The watch case is in tip-top condition with no scratches, dings or dimples visible to the naked eye and the integrity of the case and case hinges is first class. The Strap & Buckle A high quality, black leather strap has been fitted, along with a plain gold-plated buckle.
