Rolex “Full-Set 1680 Red” Submariner
Offered here is an incredible example of a Rolex Submariner, featuring the date window at 3 o’clock, the Reference 1680. This Submariner dates to 1972, and is fitted with an “MK4” red Submariner dial. Further, this particular Rolex Submariner comes complete as a full-set, including its original Rolex box and “punched” Warranty Certificate”, showing the original date of sale in 1972.
This Rolex Submariner is in excellent vintage condition. The case appears unpolished and sharp (if it was ever polished, it was done extremely lightly), with beveled egdes still visible. The dial is in excellent condition, with no flaws, chips, marks, etc. The tritium lume is original and present on both the dial and hands, aged to a nice yellow color. The original and period correct “fat font” bezel insert is in likewise good condition, with no visible wear.
The watch comes fitted on its original Rolex Oyster 9315 bracelet with 380 endlinks, dated to 1972, and has 12 full links with very light stretch.
