The first Rolex diver's model with a calendar function and a date display with a cyclop lens that magnifies the date by 2.5 times. The triplock crown, a mechanism that increases water resistance by providing two rubber gaskets on the tube side as well, which had previously been provided only on the crown side, was adopted from this model.
