Full Set Punched Papers & Accessories - Reference 1680 - 40mm Stainless steel case - Bi-directional rotating stainless steel bezel - Serial 210xxxx dating to 1970 - Black dial - Movement: Automatic - Watch with original box, papers, warranty card & manual The Rolex Submariner Ref. 1680 Red Sub MK1 is highly collectible because it combines rarity, historical importance, and originality. The MK1 “Meters First” dial was the earliest and rarest Red Sub variation, believed to account for less than 2% of Red Sub production. It was also the first Submariner with a date function and the only Submariner ever to feature red “Submariner” text. A complete full set — with original box, punched papers, booklets, and accessories — is exceptionally scarce after more than 50 years, greatly increasing desirability and value among serious vintage Rolex collectors. Case: 40mm stainless steel screw back case stamped lll.69. All the serial number and reference numbers are clear and sharp Dial: this is the rarest MK1 matte dial in superb condition with no visible blemish. No relume at all. Bezel: original "Long 5" period correct insert is in excellent condition matching the overall condition of the entire watch. Movement: caliber 1570 movement is in excellent working condition. Bracelet: Period correct C&I expansion bracelet (spring loaded) date 1970 is in excellent condition. Accessories: Full set (punched papers) with paper from Bucherer. Complete with the original anchor and chronometer tag with the original period correct green folder and inner/outer boxes
