The unusual silver bark dial has the Rolex crown at 12 o’clock and faceted steel hour markers with lume dots at the outer ends, double markers at 6 and 9 o’clock. Slight wear can be seen on some of the hour markers under magnification. The baton hands with the original lume are in fine condition, with some marks and degradation to the lume. At 3 o’clock, the Cyclops eye displays the manually set date. The stainless steel bezel is in fine condition with light overall wear, perhaps most prominent at around 3, 10 and 12 o’clock. The stainless steel case has a radially brushed face and polished sides and is in fine condition, with some marks at both the lugs and the sides, perhaps most pronounced a nick at the bottom right lug. The original Rolex crown screws down as it should. The case back has the Oyster ridges and is in fine condition with a few marks. The case does not appear to ever have been polished, which is very rare for a Rolex. The original stainless steel Oyster bracelet is in fine visual condition with some stretching. It is large enough for big wrists. Make sure the specific bracelet size listed in the details is not too small for your wrist as finding spare links for old bracelets is very difficult. The bracelet can be shortened by up to about 2cm simply by moving a spring bar in the clasp. Inside the watch, Rolex’s high grade 1225 movement beats strongly and accurately to within about +-8 seconds per day. The watch was fully serviced in December 2024 and comes with a 12 month warranty on its proper mechanical functioning.
