Initially made for pilots, the Rolex GMT-Master is the archetype of travel watches, and hereby we offer one exactly like those first ceramic GMTs which were introduced at Basel World in 2007, mainly in the black on black ‘colorway’ with the green hand with white ‘arrow’ pointer, green text on the dial and the very solid Oyster bracelet. The model presented here features a black dial and an all black Cerachrom bezel made of black ceramic. Besides regular hour, minute and second hands, the GMT-Master II features an arrow hand that rotates across the dial in 24 hours, and a bidirectional rotating bezel with 24-hour indication. The 24-hour hand indicates the ‘home time’ in a first time zone, which can be read against the hours scale on the bezel. The traveller’s local time is easily set by ‘jumping’ from hour to hour, thanks to an ingenious mechanism operated via the winding crown. The hours can be set back or forward independently of the minute and second hands. This allows travellers to adjust to the new time zone without affecting the accuracy of their watch. This GMT was purchased new in 2014 and has been taken very good care of by the first owner. The overall watch remains in very good, and solid conditions. The Oyster bracelet is in a 9.5 out of 10 condition, and is equipped with an Oysterlock folding clasp that prevents accidental opening, as well as the Easylink extension system for added comfort. After a visit to the Rolex Service Center in October of 2022, and a full movement check-up at the start of April 2025, this GMT is now ready to be enjoyed by its new owner.
