10,799.36 Circa 1987 143303 Vintage Mens Box and Papers Steel and Gold Acrylic 40mm 18k Yellow Gold GMT 9435XXX 3075 Automatic Bidirectional Leather This GMT-Master is in great, attractive vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear. The inside caseback is stamped "16750."  Between the lugs show some wear and the serial and reference numbers are clearly visible. The date wheel has developed some patina. The bezel is in good condition with some scratches and normal wear. The dial has developed patina throughout almost giving it a look like stingray skin. The hour markers and hands have developed patina. The lume in the hands has been color corrected/ relumed to match the color of the lume on the dial.   Pre-owned Rolex GMT-Master 16753 (circa 1987) is the third iteration of the legendary GMT-Master and came out around circa 1980. This generation of GMT has an upgraded movement with quick-set date and still retains the acrylic crystal and some versions, like the two-tone and all-gold versions were offered with the iconic "Nipple dial" like the watch we have here. This variation of the GMT is referred to as transitional due to the combination of older and more modern features. These two-tone models with black dials offer a great value and excellent vintage vibe.  This example has a unique patina on the dial giving it almost a stingray skin look and pairs nicely with the green leather strap we put on. This watch has also retained its box and papers which is always a bonus.

Collectible Features |Rolex 16753

Discover all the different variants of this specific reference that can enhance, or limit, this watch's value and collectability.
Tropical Dial
A dial that has aged from black to a brown or caramel color due to prolonged exposure to sunlight and elements. Highly prized for its unique and attractive aging. Greatly increases value due to unique appearance and collector demand.
Nipple Dial
The "nipple dial" is a term used to describe a specific type of dial found on certain vintage Rolex watches, particularly the Rolex GMT-Master and Submariner models from the 1970s and 1980s. The distinguishing feature of a nipple dial is its hour markers: instead of the usual flat or applied markers, these dials have raised, gold-trimmed markers that resemble small "nipples." These markers are typically made of gold and are filled with luminous material, allowing them to be easily read in low-light conditions. The nipple dial is considered highly desirable among collectors due to its distinctive look and its association with vintage Rolex models.
Chocolate Dial
A dial that has aged to a deep brown color, distinct from tropical dials.
