While its appearance largely remained the same, this transitional version introduced several subtle technical improvements. Among the key upgrades was the new caliber 3075, operating at a higher frequency of 28 800 vibrations per hour, enhancing its accuracy over the previous 19 800 bph. Additionally, the model featured a quick-set date function and an increased water resistance, rising from 50 meters to 100 meters. The present early example, from circa 1982 is distinguished by a matte dial that lacks the white gold surrounds around the hour markers. Its rarity is further enhanced by the beautifully aged lume, which has developed a charming vivid cream hue, making it a prime example of a sought-after vintage Rolex. Further preserved in great overall condition, the present Rolex GMT-Master reference 16 750 is further accompanied by its original presentation box and literature.
