Rolex GMT-Master 1675

Description

1972 (3.1 Mill. Serial) Rolex GMT-Master "Pepsi" 40MM Black Dial Oyster Bracelet (1675)

The seller represents this timepiece as being in vintage condition. This auction pertains exclusively to the watch, as the box and papers are not part of the listing. 1972 Rolex GMT-Master Ref. 1675 with MK2 matte dial. • Dial & Hands: The MK2 dial is original and has a nice even patina. The hands are likely service replacements from the late 1970s but remain tritium and match the dial well. The lume on the second hand may have been redone at some point (it’s slightly darker and reacts differently under UV), but it still looks period-correct. • Bezel & Bracelet: The bezel is an early red-back service insert from the late 1970s. The bracelet is a C+I rivet bracelet dated 1978, which I suspect was fitted during the same service. • Movement & Timekeeping: It’s running well, keeping solid time with high amplitude on my timegrapher. This is the non-quickset date 1575 movement. I don’t have service records from the original owner. I purchased this directly from the original owner, so it’s a one-owner watch until now, which is always nice to see for a 1675. The Owner was an older Vietnam vet who purchased this while in the service. I do not have any other information or paperwork. • Caseback - has off and movement verified by my watchmaker. We replaced the rubber seals, but the movement had good amplitude and time on the timegrapher. Water Resistance: I had all the seals replaced recently to help improve water resistance, but I wouldn’t recommend intentionally swimming or showering with it; it's just a good safeguard against everyday moisture.
