Description

Vintage Rolex GMT-Master 1675 Glossy Dial "Pepsi"

22,632.86 Circa 1967 143505 Vintage Mens Bob's Presentation Box Stainless Steel Acrylic 40MM Solid 1594XXX Black w/ Tritium hour markers, Tritium hands & Tritium lume 1570 Automatic Bidirectional Date Stainless Steel Oyster Rivet This Rolex watch is in good, attractive overall vintage condition. The stainless steel case is in great condition with normal signs of wear. The inside caseback is stamped "1675 II.66." Serial and reference numbers are still visible with some bracelet wear marks. The bezel insert is in honest condition with fading and some scratches throughout. The blue portion has faded more than the red and has a silvery look; the bezel has an indentation at "15". This has retained its correct date wheel with closed 6,9s and hooked 7s. The dial has remained glossy and has developed some wear, marks, and patina throughout. The dial has developed almost a stingray look that in real life can be hard to notice depending on the lighting; the photos here show it. The dial has a couple marks/ spots to note; one under the nine o'clock hour marker and one in the center in the middle under the hand-set. The lume has developed patina and aged to an attractive yellow color with some plots on the lower-half developing some darker patina. The hands have developed patina and the lume in the hands has been color corrected/ relumed to match the lume color on the dial. The bracelet is a rivet USA Oyster bracelet with a clasp stamped "78" indicating it's from 1978. There is some slight pitting on the 4th link at the 6 o'clock and light wear on the bracelet. The bracelet has light stretch between the links.  The GMT Master is Rolex's signature pilot's watch, complete with dual-time capabilities. It came to market in 1955, with ref. 1675 following shortly after in 1959. It's one of the most sought-after vintage Rolex watches on the secondary market because it's instantly recognizable with its 24-hour bezel and dedicated GMT hand. The Rolex 1675 was also notably the first GMT Master to use crown guards. The example we have here is from 1967 and features a glossy dial and small GMT hand, this would be the last glossy dial variation before Rolex went to the matte dials. We love how the bezel has faded on this watch giving it a unique character.
