Rolex GMT-Master 1675

Description

A Rare, Highly Collectable, 40mm Rolex GMT Master "Fuchsia" bezel MK1 "Long E" Dial with Original Rivet Bracelet, circa 1968

Description: Produced in circa 1968, this Rolex GMT Master reference 1675 stands out for its highly sought-after “fuchsia” bezel insert an anomaly exclusive to watches within the 1.8 million to 1.9 million serial range. During this period, Rolex used a specific batch of aluminium bezel inserts whose red pigments were prone to chemical change under UV exposure over decades. Instead of remaining a deep red, these sectors faded to a striking pink‑purple hue, creating what collectors now know as the “fuchsia” effect. No other GMT‑Master production era exhibits this same characteristic, making these examples highly prized among vintage enthusiasts. This watch retains its original matte black “Long E” Mk 1 dial, identified by the extended middle stroke of the ‘E’ in “ROLEX.” The tritium lume plots have aged to a warm cream tone, harmonizing with the vibrant bezel fade. Completing the ensemble is its original riveted Oyster bracelet (reference 7206 with correct 80 end links), a detail often lost to time but critical in preserving the watch’s period authenticity and value.
