The first Rolex GMT Masters adorned with their red and blue "Pepsi" bezels were developed in collaboration with the airline Pan Am Airways in the 1950s who wanted a watch capable of simultaneously displaying different time zones. Various improvements and slight aesthetic modifications over decades led to the creation of the GMT Master II in 1983. The reference 116710BLNR released in 2013, brought a major aesthetic change, it was nicknamed "Batman" because of its blue and black bezel.
Keeping this bezel, in 2018 Rolex presents a new version: the reference 126710BLNR, put up for auction here, which houses the caliber 3285 which has been the subject of 10 patents. It stands out for its superior performance. Its new Chronergy escapement, developed and patented by Rolex, increases its power reserve to approximately 70 hours.492, Estimate CHF 12,000-18,000.-
