D919601, sold in 2006 A fine and attractive, water-resistant, automatic, stainless steel tonneau-shaped certified chronometer wristwatch with gloss black dial, applied luminous baton and triangular indexes, Arabic 3,6,9 numerals, luminous hands, sweep center second and steel Oyster bracelet Ref. 78690. Fitted with Cal. 3130, rhodium-plated, 31 jewels, self-winding, hack mechanism, certified chronometer, screwed case back and crown, sapphire crystal. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 36 mm. Thickness 11.30 mm. Approx. overall bracelet length 160 mm. Accompanied by a Rolex punched warranty dated 2006 The Rolex Explorer reference 114270 is identifiable by its dial, the famous 3,6,9 presents on most of the Explorer models since its release in 1953 until today. Apart from a few exceptions, the Explorer is only designed in steel, with a black dial and Mercedes hands. This is the winning combination for this emblematic model which hasn’t aged in the course of its long period of production. The present example is in extremely good overall condition still retaining its green sticker on the case back.
