2024 185410 Excellent Mens Box and Papers Stainless Steel Sapphire 42MM Stainless Steel 24-hour Solid 764URXXX Black w/ Luminous hour markers, Chromalight hands & Chromalight lume 3285 Automatic Fixed Date Stainless Steel Oyster Oysterlock Pre-owned Rolex Explorer II ref 226570 (2024) is the latest iteration of Rolex's famous spelunker's tool watch and only the second 42mm generation model.  When the series debuted back in the 1970s, it looked different than the watch you see here. It had a smaller case and a bezel decorated with alternating numerals and hashes. Rolex switched to the bezel configuration you see here a short while later and continued to make various upgrades to the series.  In 2011, the larger 42mm ref. 216570 hit the market, complete with a Maxi dial to balance the proportions of the larger case size and a modern variation of the orange "Freccione" arrow hand.  Ref. 226570 came next in 2021 and is largely the same, save for some cosmetic upgrades and a shiny new movement.
