Its GMT hand is beautifully aged, graduated from a dark orange at the base to a light yellow at the tip. The rest of this watch is in remarkably good condition, with sharp lugs and case bevels. There are some light dings on the bezel and crown.\n\nOriginally released in 1971, the ref. 1655 was the very first Explorer II produced by Rolex. Originally designed for cave explorers, it features a 24-hour hand to help them keep track of time while in the dark.\n\nUnlike subsequent Explorer II models, the 1655 has a distinctive dial and hand layout. Instead of the brand's iconic 'Mercedes' hands, the 1655 uses less flashy but equally practical pencil hands.
