The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. The watch is in brand new overall condition with the original protective sticker remaining. It was purchased in 2019, and have never been worn by the consignor.

" A rare and exclusive twist on the Rolex Daytona, the 116516 nicknamed the “Platona,” was released in 2013--- on the 50th anniversary of the classic model. An outstanding icon of the Rolex brand, the Daytona in and of itself was and continues to be perhaps among the brand’s most desirable pieces. The release of the unique platinum Daytona, then, only meant that Rolex would be able to add yet another historically important watch to their production repertoire. The creation of the 116516 Platona was ground-breaking in that the model itself saw for a series of firsts: the 116516 had the first ceramic bezel to ever appear on a Daytona, it was the first serial-production platinum Daytona with an ice blue dial, and it was the first platinum Daytona with a matching platinum bracelet.
