Description

Rolex Daytona 6265 "Big Red" Box/Papers 1983 REF: 6265

A highly collectible and well-preserved Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 6265, featuring the iconic black “Big Red” dial, sold in 1983 and accompanied by its original box and papers. The stainless steel case is in excellent condition, showing light wear from use and signs of a previous polish, while retaining strong lugs and well-defined lines. The original black tritium “Big Red” dial is exceptionally clean, with bright printing and matching tritium hands. The original steel bezel is also in excellent condition, showing only minor surface wear. Fitted with a newer 78350 Oyster bracelet with 557 endlinks, showing light stretch consistent with age. The clasp is stamped X12. The serial and reference numbers between the lugs are crisp and legible, and the caseback is stamped C.R.S. Inside ticks the correct Valjoux 727 movement, in excellent working order. Rolex London service markings are engraved inside the caseback, documenting official services in 2005, 2009, and 2011 — a rare detail that adds to the provenance and transparency of this piece.
