While the reference 116528 was released to the public on the year 2000, and usually feature a serial numbers starting with a P, the present watch displays a serial starting with the letter "A" and dating the watch to 1999. An extremely low serial number, the watch can be considered a truly early "pre-series" specimen of the reference. Adding to the special nature of the wristwatch, the chronograph shows attributes usually seen on the reference 16500. The dial of this example has a few variants which can be seen on the reference 16500. The subdial of the chronograph for hours features the inverted 6 display, which was later changed to feature the more commonly known layout. An important timepiece, the present wristwatch has features setting it apart from other examples of the reference. Very rare, the wristwatch also perfectly showcases the identity of the Rolex manufacture and their daring, constantly evolving nature, which leads them to create timepieces with rare variances.
